A lonely path.

docstorm

From all those days when I thought I was loved

a concept does arise

that true love is a tangible doubt

and as distant as the skies.

But within this very heart there lies

the answer that I seek,

though I doubt the search will take its course

for my bravery is ashamedly weak.

I prefer the comfort of my prudent doubts

the cushioning of their ignorance,

so I'll bathe in the shadow of their muted truths

and reside here without hindrance.

But your tenacity appears to have no shame

and resolves to invade my mind,

and in my minds eye I see deceit

and all things most unkind.

Though my heart beats fondly within my chest

it will offer you no embrace,

for I trust not the poignant words of love

or the corruption of acting in haste.

I will forever walk a lonely path

under skies of disbelief,

I treated you like a princess,

you acted, like a thief.

Never again will I bare my soul

nor give my heart so free

for I'm just an empty vessel now,

after you walked out on me.

  • myself and me

We all have to walk the lonely path in our time, while keep walking on it, the path will cross with your true love.
    Well expressed.
