Eye of The Hurricane

poetboy5454

Through the eye of the hurricane

Hidden within a world of wind and rain

Peaceful, yet surrounded by war and pain

Blood streaming from those slain

Blind to the reality behind the curtain

Unknowing of the night, only the sun

Trapped within a joyful sorrow

Abandoned from heartbreak and woe

Beyond their cries of laughter

A symphony of broken screams

Their future couldn't be bleaker

Shattered hopes and dreams

Yet through the eye of the hurricane

We seemed to have forgotten their pain

Their shrieks rising over the wind and rain

Impending doom that they must feign

All blind to the eye of the hurricane

  • Comment from author about the poem: Hurricane going to hit tomorrow, which gave me inspiration for this poem. (it is broader than simply a literal hurricane) Luckily we live in a good area so we'll be fine.
