Desolate

With blood stained hands they begin to draw the past

A drop slides down their wrist and disconnects now falling fast

Their sins now rain down upon our souls

Blood rising, we're drowning, taking the toll

While our future is falling apart out of our control

Dreams torn away, replaced with nightmares

Hope turned to ashes, matches lit without care

Spirits shattered. truth now masked by lies

Hearts broken, betrayal threatening all ties

A forgotten past, torn present, and dark tomorrow

Shambling along a tattered path, nowhere to go

Trapped within a night, last light falling from the stars

Vultures fly over as lions let out their final roar

War carving the future, bodies paving the way

Humanity is given the cost, impossible to pay

Fiercest flames cease

Coldest chills freeze

Great wind settles to a gentle breeze

Deaf ear left to listen to broken pleas

Very well written, poetboy. A dark and unwelcome future!
