Thereafter

For every little part of you and every bit that's shown, the love you've come to have for me is more than what was known

And through these days, and months gone by summing to a year, I'm blessed to share this life with you, clear of doubtful fear

We've made a gamble with our lives, and left it all to fate, but things of such can hurt at times, put forth to gates of hate

I made a promise, I made a vow, a commitment to my wife, no matter what the future holds, you alone will hold my life

I promise that we'll fight, I swear we'll wanna grieve, I vow that as the years go by, some days we'll want to leave

To call it off and stop it there, to come back down to earth, to say we simply flew to high to say it wasn't worth

It wasn't worth the pain we had, fate stole away our wings, we couldn't make it to the place where frozen sunlight sings

Where darkness never comes, and sadness fears the light, beyond what we could comprehend beyond what was our fight

I know it's hard to hear sometimes, the hardships that we'll face, I know it's hard to hear sometimes, it may not be my place

That such a world does not exist, the world will have its dawn, we may not be those perfect ones, that others set upon

But even through it all we'll always have our love but even through it all I'll always be in love
