Inhale

Edthepoet

We all get that one moment
To run through a crowded street
Denim jacket falling at the shoulders
Wearing nothing on our feet
Running for
The one we love
To admit feelings
We could not admit
Earlier on that day
When the fear
Of feeling an emotion
So close to loves description
Left us breathless
Unable to think
Sinking in a sea of what ifs
Until you either hold onto
The sinking sounds of doubt
Or you surrender to the soundwaves of "fuck it"!
I'm ready come what may!
And you ride that tidalwave of fear into unknown waters
Where what awaits you
Leaves you well out of your depths
Yet its only in this moment of desperation
We can truly appreciate
the value
Of one deep breath.

...inhale.
