Thunder in Summer

Flowers under the sun

The dark and treacherous conditions of a thunder storm,

arh how things seem so bleak.

Maybe this is a sign, that summer has hit its peak.

Sounds of rain, smacking of the Windows followed by the monstrous growls of thunder,

it's a major contrast to the sunny days of last week,

how things change so quickly, I really wonder.

The lightning blinds the town i call home,

and inflicts fear into its residents.

But not me, I find the storm soothing and engaging,

like it's as if the rest of the world is irrelevant.

Excellent write Flowers. I remember very similar thunder storms. While I always hope for sunny warm days or clear star filled nights, a thunder storm with light rain can be very relaxing. Although the loud cracks of thunder overhead can cause a jump or two. Thanks for this wonderful write. ; )
