Shadow

BloodPho3nix

Tonight, hazy and cold
I admire the lake from the dock
Everything around me is put on hold
Time is irrelevant, no need for a clock

A minute here feels like forever
In the most beautiful way
I’ve never felt better
Wishing I could stay

The ducks flock to where I sit
Peaceful, with no fear
After a minute they split
I know what they hear

I walk over to the end of the dock
To look at my reflection
What I see leaves me in shock
Nothing’s there, a blank projection

Where have I gone?

It sounds like a moment of escape from ego to me, which is a rare and precious experience. Congratulations, Jesse!, on this one!
