Curvaceous and sexy
Muscular, yet slender
And the mighty power
That lurks between the fenders
Mirror-like finish
Of hypnotic black
No apologies for
The innocence it lacks
Wheels and tires
Rolling or sitting still
Mesmerizing the eyes
With awe they instill
Through the hood
Rests the hood scoop Shaker
With the turn of a key
A rumbling Earth Quaker
Sit behind the steering wheel
Hold the Pistol Grip Shifter
Drop the clutch
Now you’re haulin’ the mail Mister
Shift from first to second gear
As you’re pushed into your seat
Feel that Hemi pull
Hurling you down the street
Built for speed
Born to be driven
The life of a Plymouth Hemicuda
Deserves all the respect it’s given

- Comment from author about the poem: This car was kept in a one car showroom of a Chrysler Plymouth dealership in the town next to the town I grew up in and has been my dream car since the day I first laid eyes on it. I never owned the car, but always wanted it. I can still see it in my mind like it was yesterday.

Wow your passion for that car shines through ... cool poem
Thanks wlschuett. And ironically, a few years later I would be working with the original owner of the car.
Hope you end up with one someday AP!
I'd have to hit the lottery jackpot to be able to buy one these days.
A classic for sure, the Cuda! Brings huge bucks on the auction block today. Good write, AP!
Can U say lottery jackpot? ; )
Well written and expressed
Thanks Tony. ; )
Welcome
"With the turn of a key
A rumbling Earth Quaker"
Wow, that shake fuel the blood with excitement. "built for speed" indeed.
This car is definitely your lover.
Ya know, I once wrote a poem as the voice of the car. But I think it was one of bunch that got deleted by mistake.
I love your poem but will have to check in the car. I only drive because I need but like better the passenger sit so I can enjoy the scenario. This car seems to have stolen your heart.
Yes, I suppose you could say that. Thanks for reading and commenting malu. ; )
Very good write, our dreams come in many forms. You might not have owned the car but nobody can take away the image you have in your mind.
THAT my friend will live forever in my mind. Thanks Goldfinch. ; )
