Betrayal

private poet

Betrayal hurts

Like a dagger to the heart

Making lies out of truths

And truth out of lies.

Stealing my happy memories

Replacing them with their own

Twisted perceptions.

Viewed from a distance.

Creating a world that

Suits their purpose.

Destroying the true reality

That was mine.

I am wounded

And I stumble

But I will not quit!

My truth will be heard

Above the poisonous lies

Of my enemies.

The love that we shared

Must remain for the record

As the beautiful thing

That it was

Kept safe within my heart

Treasured forever.
