Moonlight

poetboy123

The time had come, and we couldn’t make the cut

Victory now another fleeting dream, stuck in a rut

Beneath this translucent moonlight we now crawl

Swearing one day, we’ll rise again and stand tall

Remembering the vows we made, they won’t be broken

Latching onto our hope for after this night we’ll see the sun

Though surrounded by darkness, stars shine as a beacon

Light eternal, showing we can’t stop our duty till it’s done

Bandage our wounds, for all these pains will one day heal

Not our wounded pride, until we have won, this we’ll always feel

Once shooting stars and now crashed upon the ground

Against injustice we’ll never be silent, our rage unbound

Racing towards the end, streaking like a comet across the sky

Guided by our hearts to put a stop to the wicked, it never lies

Despite every obstacle in our way, no matter how much we fall

Our stories will never end, one day we’ll breakthrough every wall

Beneath this translucent moonlight, beware for we will rise once again

Like stars sparkling in the night sky, you’ll hear our roar from the lion’s den

With every new lie, the truth will grow ever uglier and when it rears its head

From this moonlight, your final moments will spray and paint the night red

Sacrifice is the ultimate weapon to change this world

Free to whoever is willing to use it, and many have and will

It separates the true from the lost, in the end we all pay the bill
