She, He

Brie

With her heart big as a skyscraper,

His was no smaller than a bread crumb

With her mind as open as the day,

His was closed like dead eyes

And she sought to change that

To try, she did

To cry, she would

In the sense that she put all into it,

He put none

In the sense that she would not give up,

He was already done

To try, she would

To cry, she would

Now in doubt, she smiles as bright as the sun

But he frowns like a stormy sky

To try, she did

To cry, she is

Now she's given up

And he's seen her

For the first time, he has seen her

She wanted him to know that she was there

And she did

She actually did

Sometimes it takes a lot to open somebody's eyes. Nicely penned!
