True beauty shines within us
So why do we talk to mirrors,
When their eyes are blind to see
What they're staring at always withers.
For their beauty is only skin deep
So that's all they ever see,
When we stand in their presence
And cry out with our plea.
They can't reveal our character
Or display our heart of hearts,
For their silver eyeballs are numb
To the most important parts.
They tell you what they can
And nothing that they know,
So everything they tell you
Is to heighten up the show.
I guess we think they're wiser
Cause they judge alot of faces,
But looks can be deceiving
So their efforts are always wasted.
For splendor always dwells within
Deep below the skin,
And beauty only wears a grin
Every now and then.
So never trust a stranger
To gauge you by your looks,
Because no one should judge you
By the cover of your book
