Pray for Texas

malubotelho

Today I was thinking, I should make a recess
to pray for Texas
Ask God help, to people to clean the mess.

My heart is painful, my eyes are tearing
I can feel the pain,
for those suffering
some lost they hope
life changing its meaning.

Suddenly I've changed mind
about my sorrow feeling
God don't want us sad
God don't want us fearing.

I pray for the world to cure
I pray for the good changes
but I should not be sad, because
it is all on God's hands.

Thanks for your comments and yes, I'm very faithful. I'm still believing that if we can turn things around.

We should also pray for the people (before prisoners they are people) stuck in the Houston Jail that was decided to not be evacuated despite it being mandatory on the area. We need to do more than pray, climate change enhances these storms. As I have grown, I begin to disagree with the "just be a good person" rhetoric. Great thought for the poem though.

I have never visited the USA and only met US citizens online. All such different, nicer folk, than TV progs would lead us to believe here in UK. What i see in Texas is the human spirit of helping your neighbor no matter who they be. One hopes such disasters also have a positive lasting effect upon society bringing it closer to one single humanity. Worthy thought provoking writing Malu.

Well, I've been through the hurricane Wilma here in Florida. We did not have much flooding but a lot of destruction. No compare with Katrina and now Harvey but we stayed without electricity for 2 weeks. We had to use the branchs from the trees to cook barbecue everyday. I did not have any loss. Was very scary though. The whole complex turned to be a huge barbecue area. We helped each other, yes. Was good because I ended meeting a lot more neighbors. Thanks D.A.
