Bad Seed

Bad Seed

It's such a shame

Can't find it in herself,

Puts all that blame

on the likes of someone else.

She'd never think

To look inside

Not even blink

The girl knows how to hide...

She thinks she's so sensitive

All those times she cried

Alone in her room,

Whispered goodbyes

As her tears roll down

From "little lost martyr girl" eyes

Alternating ass-kicker attitude

Demanding tribute

with usual platitude

Don't expect any thanks,

Only frustration

With scowl and sneer,

She fakes gratitude

That's all you'll get

From this little creation

Of the ever growing population

From the petulant products

Of the "Gimme Generation!"

Sadly this is becoming true of more and more people, but we have been blessed with the ability to change, all that's left is igniting it ourselves.

    • Candlewitch

      thank you poetboy!

What of the parents? Good writing again.

      • Candlewitch

the parents are bewildered because they can't understand why their children are worthless and have no respect for them!

So well written, Cat, and so poignant.
I have no patience with people like that, sorry, getting too old to bother, just walk away, don't wanna hear, let them fend for themselves. I guess, 'tough love' would be the only thing that might work.

        • Candlewitch

thanks, Fred....I agree with tough love. and sink or swim in most cases ;)

The rise of instant gratification is an absolute god send in some ways, but it has also massively contributed to the horrendous attitude of many people. The way things are going I don't believe this will change in future generations. Maybe even becoming the norm.

          • Candlewitch

            dear TN96,

parents don't live forever. these coddled kids will soon be on their own and it is swim or sink time! it is a sad situation.

            *hugs, Cat

The ME generation is here and awakened.
Everything bad is the fault of someone else. No responsibility taken.

              • Candlewitch

and I blame the parents and school systems. thank you lasergraph!

                *hugs, Cat

Spot on Cat your assessment of "bad seed " - this sums up the petulant attitude of far too many today.

                • Candlewitch

                  dear Fay,

sad and pathetic, isn't it :( thank you for your support!

Reminds me of an old Tom Rush song called, "Kids These Days" where in it he sings -
                  "Kids these days
                  Don'tt like chewin'
                  But they
                  Sure can swallow
                  Was'nt that way
                  In my younger days
                  Something wrong with
                  Kids these days."

Great write Cat. You nailed it! ; )

                  • Candlewitch

                    dear AP,

sounds like the kind of song I'd agree with! thank you!

So very true in these days of a 'just give it to me culture'. So many of the newest generation are not prepared to learn thing for themselves. Saying that though it gives me a wonderful feeling of hope when a youngster does do something to help others.

                    • Candlewitch

you and me both, Goldfinch, on both counts!

                      *hugs, Cat
