Good Friends

Adrianna Kjeld

Messaging you is like writing a novel,
If I were at sea I'd send you a bottle,
with many a messages scribbled inside,
with you my mind's never deprived.
I'd say that I love you, but so much I've lost,
I'd foam at my mouth like rabies or froth.
Then like the ocean I'd single you out
like a man in a boat, so lost, but found.
Hope at last before I drown.

I've be consumed by your attention,
and in some things I'be seen a reflection
but just in case, here's my prevention...

Put up some walls to hide behind,
but break them down from time to time.

Occasionally let lust subside,
find those whom you're within their mind,
Who keep the pickaxe on the grind
trying to make sure they give you time.

Good friends will work hard to find the true you
don't give them up, they'll stick like glue.

Well written poem, Adrianna, with a great message. Real friends are hard to find and you are lucky if you have two or three in a lifetime.
