wandering (but never finding)

alienkid

3:AM and I'm thinking:
should I kill myself,
or should I wait for the world to kill me first?
The moon is like a water lily floating against the dark night.
It makes me wonder.
Am I a monster for doing the things that I do,
or am I a saint for regretting them?

4AM and I'm thinking:
that the stars are kind for bringing me some peace.
But still, it makes me wonder.
How I am going to keep breathing,
when I know how easy it is
to drift into nothingness
like the memory of a bad dream.

5:AM and I'm thinking:
that even the honeyed blade of dawn,
can't save me now.
Even the cool promise of a new day,
and the warm beat of my own memories,
makes me wonder,
if I'll still be alive by the cold light of-.

6AM.
I don't want to think anymore.

Writing offers the prospect of someone reading you, and also the chance to do it again.

It seems the better option to me, but regardless, I wish you the best.

Welcome to MPS! I hope you found writing to be cathartic and I also hope you'll write more for us to see. I think you did a great job. Thank you for sharing!

hOne of a poets noblest companions is his/her troubled mind. You've shown yours in well written verse. lets see ore of it please, and please comment on some of other peoples writing on here - thats how it works - ppl commenting on each others work - if you dont do that you won't get many people commenting on yours it seems.

I fnd it very rewarding and often an inspiration to write is generated for me when i start to make a comment..... my comment becomes my next poem (then i have to compose a new comment).
