Sunglasses

ruby.e

He's gone.
I put my sunglasses on.
The rims are cold on my skin.
I open my eyes and color disappears.
Every thing turns black.
I try to take the sunglasses off.
They won't budge.
I attempt to be strong.
I look for color everywhere.
It's nowhere to be found.
Weight is on my shoulders.
I'm tired but I can't sleep.
Tears run down my cheeks.
The sunlight feels like needles.
Rays of light pierce my body.
I can't breathe.
I'm drowning in darkness.
I beg the Lord to rid me of this pain.
Then, I see something yellow.
Next comes blue and red and pink.
I throw the sunglasses off my face.
They shatter on the ground.
I say goodbye to the darkness.
I welcome the brightness.

Thanks, it was a lot harder than the poem made it sound😂

Ruby, your well written poem makes a valid point: After the rain comes the sun, after night it is day. No matter how bad you feel one moment, there will be another moment where you feel great!

That's exactly what I was going for!
