Drowning

Stella_Suicide

You left me broken down, with a blade against my wrist.

No more then a child, left with that razor's most sick and twisted kiss.

You pulled that trigger so very long ago, you pulled that trigger and left me all alone.

And so I grew up, and learned to accept my fate.

I knew one day you'd return, so I waited for that day.

And then you came back, and I knew it was to good to be true.

My life full of no one, was completely brand new.

For a minute, no, a second, you helped erase my scars.

And then you fucked it all up and ended back up behind bars.

And so then I returned to my sweet, eternal Hell.

To my blades and my drinks and drugs and pills.

I needed you then. I need you still.

But you don't care, and no one ever will.

Someday i'll break, maybe today, i'll forget how to breathe and begin to drown.

I'll find the nearest bridge, and i'll go down, down, down.

There's nobody here I could really leave behind.

Only yours truly, this sweet love of mine.

Already trapped in this dark, dark world.

The lights begin to dim.

Im standing on the edge of a dark, dark bridge.

But don't you remember Daddy?

I never learned to swim.

This is so clearly an emotional and poignant piece, well written. I can relate it to my father too. I am sorry for your pain. Be strong.

Great poem, though heartwrenching. I can identify with some of this, and it breaks my heart! Your daddy may have never given you what you feel you needed to get on in this life but you are doing a great job without him! Can't wait to read more of your work! (I too am sorry for your pain!)
