What my Mother Taught Me

Love

Compassion

Forgiveness

When you are first brought into this world

You know nothing

You don’t know that the leaves change with the seasons

That there are multiple religions

That there is a beautiful place called Taco Bell

You know nothing

Ignorance is a funny thing

You can either take the knowledge that is passed down like dirty blankets from your great-grandmother

And use it to benefit some part of your world

Or you can ignore it and learn your own way

Hatred

Hostility

This is what you will learn

When i was 10 years old

I learned that not everyone is as sweet as my mom

If you don't watch your step you might just walk into a storm

That you didn’t know existed

Love

Compassion

Forgiveness

I learned these things from my mother

I took the knowledge and tried my best to swallow it as fast as i could

But the hatred and hostility was just too heavy in my heart

Now i am fighting to be like her

To do what she taught me

To love one another because that's all we have

To be grateful that you can wake up every single morning

To work as hard as you can but also don't forget to laugh

To share your art with the world

I am just doing

What my mother taught me

Momma was right. Love makes the world go round. And you express your love for her here so well. Please comment on my stuff.
