Blue Jays and Squirrels

 Blue Jays and Squirrels

They were blue jays loud and rude

attacking a squirrel at his every move

protesting him with their dives

as he shelled pecans beside

The relationship was a curious one

With the jays just having fun

With no real harm ever intended

Any such acts quickly ended

The jays simply loved to harass

And hurry the squirrels as they pass

Sending them on their way

To shell pecans some other place

Who’s at fault no one knows

But the conflict is a regular show

With each a little part to play

In the drama of the day
