Time Prisoner

John Prophet

We

are born

when we are

born.
We

look around

and see what

we see.
We

then get

on with it.
We

deal

with what

we have.
This was

true

for those

born

one thousand

years ago.
It is true

today.
It will be

true

for those born

one thousand years

from now.
The time

we're born

into is

unique,

we behave

as those in our
time

behave,

we relate

to what

our time offers.
We'd behave

differently

in different times.
We

are trapped

in and are

prisoners

of time.

We find ourselves in different versions of consensus-realities over time as we progress in our experiencing ... true. I believe we are "trapped" only by our slow progress in evolving past the inability to recognize and accept our oneness. We continue on this cycle of experiencing until we do ... then can graduate to the next level of being.
    Love your insightful poem, JG!

Thank you Louis, for reading my work and your kind words.
I like your way of looking at this. You're right, there's so much more than meets the eye!

Granted, we are trapped within our own time physically. But what I find so appealing, is learning of other times and places. We are now in the age of technology and conveniences. I can't imaging how things would be 1000 years from now, and that's if we make it that far without destroying ourselves first. Excellent write Collin. ; )

Simply put and thought-provoking. it's crazy how much things have developed over the years and what we take for granted now were not even in existence a few years back! Really enjoyed this piece 🙂
