Waiting at your bedside

Afternoontea

Waiting at your bedside, watching every breath. how can this be happening? How can YOU be dying in front of my eyes?!

When the call came you were sick in hospital, I was shocked and worried but never thought we'd be here. I rushed to the hospital to be with you, my love.

Youve be been sick before and been ok. Youve always been strong, nothing could break you. You have been my rock, my love.

When the doctor asked to talked to me, I had no idea this was IT. "There's nothing more we can do but keep him comfortable ".

My world stopped, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't hear anything else the doctor said, I was in shock, disbelief. I wasn't prepared, helpless and scared.

Waiting in this bleak hospital room, I can hear life outside. It's noisy. Don't they know your here! Don't they know your dying! Do they not care!!

I'm angry at the world.  I'm angry at myself. I'm angry with you for leaving me. I needed more time, more love, more YOU!

The nurses keeping asking if I'm ok, I'm never going to be ok again!! They give you medicine to keep you calm and pain free.

I hope your not suffering in your silence. I hope you can't hear me cry. I hope you drift away peacefully in your sleep. I wish I could go with you my love.

Waiting at your bedside.
