Playing lovers

david

There's nothing more to say.
After all, we were just playing
a game.
We had some fun.
Now the game is over.
It's time to go home.
It's time to take ourselves
to bed
and to sleep.
We will dream again
until we finally realize
there is no further need
for dreams.
At the end of all dreaming,
we will arrive
at our original home.
We will then understand
that we never left each other,
could never be separated
and could never be apart.
We were just
a universal love
playing
at being
lovers.
