Left Behind

Liberty_Shadows

I stood by you in your darkest of days.

I supported you in every way.

I held your hand when things got hard.

I was your flashlight when the world got dark.

When you were downgraded, I had your back.

When you were happy, I made the moments last.

But when I needed your help, you were never there.

You gave away all the things we shared.

You haunt my memory like a bullet in my mind.

I did everything for you...

But you left me behind.

I like the way you write, Liberty. Straight forward, you tell it how it is. And it is hard to find out that a love you think you share is actually a one-way street. Unfortunately, hindsight is 20/20, and the old saying that love is blind still seems to be accurate in some cases.
