Goodnight

Dannie_51715

To sit and wait
Looking at the stars
Waiting for the date
The world will be ours

With plenty of days
Still to come
I think of what he'd say
If he were home

I can imagine it just right
His arms around me
Holding me tight
I know how happy I will be

Soon, as I lay me down for bed
Sleeping for another night
I think of all the words he's said
"Goodnight, don't let the bed bugs bite."

Dannie, you wrote a heart warming and tender poem about young love. Very well written, with your emotions leaping off the page! I like it!
