Happiness
is a steady flow
coursing through my veins
keeping a supply of smiles
spread across my face
Anger
is a motionless pond
rippling when someone
disrupts my temper
Jealousy
is a fast moving stream
sweeping me away before I know it's there
Disappointment
is a wave of salt water
the dreadful tasting liquid crashing over me
and ripping me under into it's
unforgiving embrace
Fear
is scalding hot
only harmful when it boils over the edges
Trust
is pure and distilled
once tainted, it will never be the same
Feelings
are an ocean
I used to drown in the suffocating substance
always longing to be set free from my life long swim
now that my wish has come true
and my ocean has dried up
I am numb from dehydration
It is far better to be breathless and drowning
than to be constantly yearning for a single drop of emotion
