Brian

Nicki Jackson

You caught my eye
I saw the brokenness
But I also saw perfection
You made me smile
You made me laugh
Everytime our eyes met
I wanted it to last

But you had to leave
I had to go
I'll always remember
The moments we had
When our eyes met

You're on my mind
It doesn't seem to fade
I hope one day we can meet again
But for now I'm just waiting by my phone

  • Comment from author about the poem: I work for this Christian company, and the other night we had a show. We had some volunteers and I instantly clicked with one of them. Him and I got along so well but I could tell that we both felt something more. We couldn't really say anything about it because he is in a program and it's kinda breaking the rules. The guy in charge actually came up to me and said we can't be hanging out this much and had him leave for a bit. When we finally got to be together again yeah asked for my number and I secretly gave it to him. I am not sure if he actually has a cell phone or how he will contact me, but I have been staring at my phone all night waiting for a text from him. I miss him and it hurts. I know we are coming different but I see something amazing in his eyes.

This is magical writing before my eyes. You see i am in my sixties and here you've reminded me of love as a young person.... the magical unexpected suddenly leapt into your heart turning your life upside down leaving you spellbound. Anyone not believing in love at first sight needs to read your beautifully heartfelt words.
