Shine A Light

Edthepoet

Know a girl
Seems she's
Not of this world
I'll never tell
How she really feels

Maybe she knows to much
About the pains
Of love
To ever truly trust
Her fluttering heart

For today
A touch was enough
A delicate palm
Pressed on my forearm
Spoke every word
Our tongues could not

Our silent truth
Hidden in plain sight
Weaving between
The sounds of lies
Waiting for the right time
To shine a light on
Our tired old armours disguise.

  • dusk arising

Sometimes it just cuts through all the crap we build around ourselves. The magic that is a touch..... you'd tell youself youre being silly reading too much into it but,...... it was electric, it was a foundation stone...... you laid that stone together today.
