60 YRS GONE

illia

BROWN STAINED FINGERS

YELLOW STAINED TEETH

60 YRS GONE, RESTING IN PEACE

WHAT A LIFE THIS MAN SAW

ONLY TO BE PUSHED ASIDE AND IGNORED

WASTED LIFE OF TEARS AND PAIN

SUNDAY ROASTS, SUNDAY RAIN

REPEATED OVER AND AGAIN

NO DIFFERENCE IN THOSE 60YRS

ALWAYS THE SAME

ONCE RESPECTED AS A WORKING MAN

WANTED AS A LOVER, WANTED AS A MAN

ONLY ONE LOVE, ONLY ONE WIFE

TEMPTED NOW AND THEN,

BUT NEVER THOUGHT TWICE

HANDSOME CHAP HE ONCE WAS

HIS ONLY LOVE ALSO GONE

A VISIT NOW AND THEN, BY THE SAME FACE HE ONCE HAD

NOW HE HAS GONE

HIS SON WATCHES THE COFFIN BEHIND IN THE CAR

NOW HIS GONE, MEMORIES ARE ALL THATS LEFT

NO MORE SUNDAY ROASTS

NO MORE YELLOW STAINED TEETH

ONCE THIS CHERISHED LIFE, NOW CEASES TO EXIST

this was written many yrs ago, I thought it would be nice to get the oldies out, its all relative, there always empathy within, poetry does it for me, writing is mine no one else's mine , I feel like a ripple of positivity does the world good thankyou for the compliment

reminds me of a person I knew a long time ago, he is timeless now and knows answers to life's greatest questions. Im sorry for your loss, in ink we find comfort in time we find healing. Love the poem
