I used to believe

I used to believe I could do whatever I please.
But now I know I have to follow the rules
Knowing there are consequences to my actions
Knowing God is judging and watching me
I used to believe I could go crazy
But now I know I can't be wild when needing to be serious
Knowing there's a time to be silly and time to be calm
I need to be civil
I used to believe my parents wouldn't care what I did
But now I know they would care
They would give me consequences to my actions
I have to act humane
I used to believe I was in charge
But now I know I am a student not a teacher
I can not be a person who bosses people around
I have to do what I'm told
