Love Into Lost

moonwriting

What once was a loud drum

Is now a calm tap

A roaring lion

Now a meow of an impotent kitten

Handheld, turned into old photos clutched

A hug embraced, diminished to what once was

The mind beating the speed of light gracefully in a foot race

Now steadily walks at a slow pace

"Now" into "Then"

"Us" into "You and I"

"Are" into "Were"

Eyes once locked with great passion

Now immediate stares toward the floor

Need not dare look up

For warm thoughts have become cold memories

A book that shall never be reopened

Only if the authors should return to add a new chapter

"Can" into "can't"

"Love" into "lost"

Wow a great sublime comparison of the earlier beginning hot passionate moments and the cold wry attitudes now. Kudos for a fab poem!
