Horizon.

Cara

I always thought I was a sinking ship. Always felt like I was drowning. Turns out I just had to let my feet touch the bottom. I'm no longer sinking, I'm just wading through. Waiting through high tide and looking to the horizon for the first sign of sunrise. I've always found the sky the most beautiful right before dawn. I've started seeing more things that way. Started thinking maybe I'm okay.

I think I could really be okay.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I haven't written anything new in what feels like forever. I've never been able to write when I'm actually happy. But here it is. Maybe a beginning of a new era for my writing. Something that isn't so sad.
