Pulse

poetboy5454

Lights shine down, sweat drips

Just like the words stumbling out

Forming a rickety bridge

Only to burn away, into ashes

Obstacles have never seemed so high

Darkness consuming every dream that dared to die

Doubt the gravediggers of all the buried hope

Left to hold on to a severed rope

Failure fills the room

Can’t breathe, can’t escape

Drowning in this air

Only frustration seeping through

Wings clipped, thrown into this abyss

Never thinking of anything that could be missed

Lost and broken, barely shambling forward

Turned blind, forgotten to be heard

Rage, despair, sorrow

Piling up from deep within

Sparks begin to fly

A small bud of heat, to combat a freezing heart
