DEMONS

DEMONS
BY: TINA CATO

It had to be a living hell,
In which you did exsist...
Home for all the demons,
That you tried so to forget...
A place so dark and scarey,
No one would want to go...
There's things in life my son,
That we must face alone...
You had so many demons,
For most of your short life...
A never ending battle,
You tried so hard to fight...
You wish they'd stay away,
Get out of your head...
Never to come back,
As if they were dead...
To think this way was crazy,
Borderline insane...
But they came to see you,
To cause you more pain......
Alive and well as ever,
But better than before...
They said you won the battle,
But we will take the war...
They reared their ugly head,
And set out on their way...
You knew the stakes were high,
An ultimate price to pay...
You thought you had a chance,
As slim as it might be...
You screamed let's get this going,
It's either you or me...
You knew to win this fight,
You would have to die...
You had prepared for this,
You fought hard through the fire..
You felt you had the upper hand,
As they're only in your head...
Without you they were nothing,
They'd simply would be dead...
You knew what must be done,
To purge them from your mind...
You proceeded into battle,
No time to look behind...
The odds were against you,
Right from the very start...
You gave it everything you had,
And fought with all your heart..
But they had an agenda,
To claim one last prize...
The soul of a new angel
You could see it in their eyes...
They thought they were smart,
But not as smart as you...
You knew your death,
Would be their death too...
You put your plan in motion,
Your soul you had to save...
You slayed every demon,
And put them in a grave...
With your soul at peace,
You spread your wings...
To fly Home to take your place,
Beside your Heavenly King...
You have no more darkness,
You've only the brightest days...
Up in Heaven with the Lord,
Where eternally you'll stay...
