It's Raining

ThisLifeofMine

It's raining and she's crying,

And my hearts breaking,

For the third time,

There's no such thing as a victimless crime,

A bag in one hand, a suitcase in the other,

She stands facing her mother,

And turns startled by her brother,

Her mouth forms words I cannot hear,

And two I cannot bear,

Not Again,

Please,

She walks past trying to hold it together,

When will I see her again,

Mother replies never,

Emotions I cannot possibly contain,

Hidden in plain sight by the rain,

I don't sleep that night,

In the morning pretend it's alright,

But it's not,

Mothers in her room where she has been and will be,

No meaningful conversations will be had,

No one will care if I'm feeling sad.
