Unrequited infatuation

MelanieSkyes

Loving you is like swallowing fire,

I know it isn't good for me,

But it makes me feel full again,

And warm.

These flames scorch my heart,

Passionate yet unrequited,

And my lungs are overflowing with smoke,

Like how thinking about you makes me breathless,

And my legs are restless,

They yearn to walk in your shadow,

Illuminated by an infatuation,

That you couldn't help but cause.

Perhaps then you'd notice me.
