Just what does it mean
From one birthday to the next?
Am I getting older?
Is it written in a text?
There are no working guidelines
Not written by man
That tell us how to live
Or take care of our land
We fight in government
We fight in the street
But inside we all just hurt
Like two hearts that long to meet
This body is a shell
That might just go to hell
Still inside we're all the same
And life is not a game
Touch inside
If we could all be blind
If only for one day
Maybe we could feel things
In a new and different way
Or maybe be like children
And see through innocent eyes
Not the body in front of us
But inside where the beauty lies
We called for civil rights
Though what does that really mean?
"Support for the benefit of citizens..."
But that's not what I've seen
This body is a shell
That just might go to hell
Still inside we're ALL the same
And LOVE is not a game
Touch inside

Beautiful! I really like it! keep on creating!
Thank you...I have always been uncomfortable about sharing what I've written. I'm trying to get over that.
