Every time, my eyes scan a room
Pieces of our memories
Cross my vision.
Maybe it’s just me,
That catches glimpses of us
Where ever I go.
I am intensely aware,
Our broken fairy tale is all
My fault.
But it was inevitable.
In ways your love
Wasn’t enough.
In ways
It was suffocating.
I have a hunger inside me,
To experience the impossible.
And see what this vast planet
Has to offer.
I guess,
As much as I wanted to.
I couldn’t do that
With you by my side.

This is a great poem. I think we all hit the "submit" button thinking it is not our best. This has everything in it that one would expect with a breakup story but MORE--because you're such a good writer, you conveyed why you had to break up so well. Very good!
