Dear Depression

Felicityjones

Dear depression,

my good old friend.

You keep showing up again and again.
I tell you to go,
But you never leave.
When you're around,
I want to grieve.
You're a broken record,
always saying the same things.
I can't handle all the sad and pain being with you brings.
I am so trapped,
this won't shut off.
Your presence makes my energy cutoff.
Can you please go away?
You're ruining my life.
I don't want to be friends anymore,
this friendship is full of strife.
The secrets you make me keep,
it isn't any fun.
The emotions you give me,
they make me so lonley and numb.
Why did you choose me?
Why am I to suffer?
I can't think straight,
i've turned into a mindless duffer.
I asked you one more time to please go away,
yet here you still are with the mindset to stay.
