Dreams for my first born

Stonemaiden

For My Sunshine

I wanted you to be better than me
I wanted so much more
I had dreams of balconies and successes galore

I knew you would be better
Smarter
Faster
My bionic dream

Every mother dreams her daughter will learn from her mistakes
She dreams her daughter won't fall for some man's promise
Dreams...

Dreams lead us to disappointments from promises not fulfilled

To empty halls and dead ends and memories of when we had possibilities

I knew my possible was you when I I held you in my arms, I knew my dreams could come true with you to carry them on

Whatever shape they took...they could be

You weren't supposed to be like me
You were supposed to be my better

My apologies for my failure as an example

I am sorry I could not be strong enough to enforce your moral conviction in who you are

To my daughter, I am sorry...
I could not make you better than me.

I did not know how...
