Invisible goodbye

Stephanie Showers

I am invisible

because you quit noticing

Everything you have to give

you give away to others

Here I am at the crossroad

only I can decide

But it’s the truth I deny

that’s killing me inside

I know the answer

I have for sometime

Your still here

But completely blind

Too little and way to late

This is it

The end

Our fate

I recall saying

If you didn’t know by now

I wasn’t willing to risk

anymore years for you

to figure it out somehow

So you took the next step

and then disappeared

now I am living

the same life I initially feared

I don’t know what took you away

But that’s where we are

and all I can say

Whatever it is

that was more important than me

Keep it close by

to bring you comfort

should you ever regret

our goodbye
