Broken Vessel

thedarksideofthemoon

You sit as you twist
A resentful accomplice
A vessel
A carrier
Madness increasing
Hour by hour
And you ponder
You wonder
On times a lifetime away
And then the mind it hones
It cherry picks
Oh so solitary
The day
That memories recalls
So clear
And so crisp
Every detail
Of the crossroad
One fork in the road
That led your life to be this
And you can smell
All the scents
And the feelings
They depart
A life long knowledge
Of when stolen
And broken ascending
Upon your young heart
And never again
Will you feel that pain
Or anything
And who is there to blame?
For you knew
When you took
So vehemently
Your part
In this game
And on your soul
Did you bestow
a life long shame
