Disregarded

Baylee

If our love

consisted simply of

brittle rose petals

You contained them completely

within the palm of your hand

lingering until

I was down on my knees

begging,

All I value

rests in your hands

please, for once, have clemency

Not only did your fist

disintegrate these petals to dust

but you disregarded the ashes

as if they never meant anything to you.

It is rare to find such an incredible description of broken love. You do have a very special way with words, Nicole.

That was painful. I've been in a similar situation and you expressed it very well. Thank you for sharing. You're very talented.
