December 31st

deen

I tossed and I turned, My mind was blurred.

I could only hear ringing, the sound of a loved one singing.

I tried to comprehend the meaning

When I did it was too late

I guess it was just his fate

I woke up to a cloud of smoke

The same smoke he battled in Vietnam.

The same smoke he had tried many times to wash from his palm

I stepped into the hallway only to see her on the floor her heart was sore

There were no more happy endings for us to discuss on our thanksgiving dinners

At the funeral everyone stood up and said gods giving, except me I guess I am one of the sinners.
