One Day

Lauren G. Harris

I dreamt of you, from the second I knew you were mine,

I had our future planned out,

Night after night, I tossed and turned,

thinking about you was all I needed,

I talked to you and sang some songs,

Everyone was so excited to meet you one day,

There was a party for you, gifts galore,

Games were played and pictures were taken for you to see them one day,

No one would've thought that the day wouldn't come...

The blood was thick and spread everywhere,

I cried and screamed trying to wake up from this nightmare,

I begged and pleaded, but you weren't there...

The gifts are in storage and my heart is broke,

everyone says its life, your daddy says that we can try again...one day,

I'll never forget you, even if everyone else wants me to,

You were just to perfect for this world,

I will hold you in my arms...one day.
