He whisked her away
To Turtle Bay
This wasn't quite
What I had in mind
He says I think it's time
Will you be my wife
This wasn't quite
What I had in mind.
When I imagined
what my life
Would look like
5 years down the line.
I wasn't expecting miracles
But that doesn't make it alright
This isn't alright
She slaves away
For minimum wage
This wasn't quite
What I had in mind
She's smoking a fag
With baby in hand
This wasn't quite
What I had in mind
When I imagined
what my life
Would look like
9 years down the line.
I wasn't expecting visitors
But that doesn't make it alright
I'm not alright.
