Do you have any idea what I would do
For a simple five minutes with you?
I dream about us talking
And sharing our memories.
Do you have the same echoing giggle
As me?
Do we share the same thirst for
adventure?
It pains me to know,
I will never hear your
supposedly booming voice.
I will never be able to share
My dreams with you.
You won’t attend my graduation
Or see me marry
The love of my life.
But there is a glowing light,
Shining at the end of the tunnel.
As I know
No matter where I go.
You are peering through the clouds
And helping me earn my angel wings.
So when the time comes,
We can finally meet in a place
Other than my dreams.

Skye, being a grand-dad myself, your beautiful and tender poem speaks to me. Can only hope that my grand-kids will think of me the way you do about your grand-dad.
Thank you for a very uplifting and joyful poem!
Thank you Fred! I am positive your grand kids love and admire you as much as I do mine despite never having the pleasure of meeting him
Your grand-dad is always with you in your heart. He even sees this write and you've made him proud. ; )
