John R Tarter

All I Ask

Give me peace to cross the river
when no bridges can be found,
I cannot walk upon the water
if I tried I'm sure to drown...
without your hand held out

As I'm passing through the valley
let my heart be lifted high,
looking up towards the mountain
to the clouds where eagles fly...
help me overcome my doubt

When I'm thrown into the furnace
keep me safe from fire and flame
and always stand beside me
as you call me by my name...
let your mercy pass my way

Help me march across the desert
with the heavens bearing fruit,
divide the sea that's set before me,
there's an army in pursuit...
that is all I ask and pray.
