To my sister
It is my honourable right in dedicating the disposition of my devoted lines to your ladyship.
Whereby my untutor'd lines are of all loyalty to your worth with which is greater than my words could show you greater.
I wish a long life to you
With much love and affection that is without end.
By what untutor'd forgeries hast deem'd asunder'd heart's that woo and blister.
So oft whence mine o'erworn pen hath perceiv'd my verse with sullen-hand defect.
There be none so invok'd as that my sister.
Proud-pied Violet thereby hath drest my heart of heart's with a thousand love's respect.
Shalt thou be compared to ten love's fairer than all fair love esteem'd?
And from forth a sistering word dost moraliz at my youthful heart's door.
Wherein thee taught all error's blot to be redeem'd.
For 'tis mine eye merit that with which dost fear nor weep no more.
With all I have assured to th' worth of mine
devoted dearth's deed
To be part in your acceptance
Wherein my words to be without thine superfluous moiety
Were my recite be deem'd far blander than earth's foul weeds.
For th' value of thine honourable disposition wilt be assured far greater than my worth could weep repentance.
