Time to Pretend

Cara

Everything is a little gray this time of year but if you close your eyes it feels more like early spring. More like rebirth than an ending. If you look at it all out of focus you can pretend that it’s perfect. Pretend that anything could be perfect. And even when the sun sets you can brace yourself against the cold and look for signs in shooting stars and constellations and pretend for a second that you believe in things like fate and second chances. You can breathe in and tell yourself that the cold bite in your lungs means you're still alive, but really it's the moments that take your breath away that are keeping you here. So be here. Keep your eyes open and keep your world in focus. Don't pretend it's perfect. Just don't pretend.
